Ministry Fellows Program Launch- The Ministry Fellows Program was officially launched tonight at the City Seminary Spring Celebration. The program is a learning opportunity for those interested in seminary level urban ministry leadership training at affordable cost. An open house will be held on June 4, 2009, at 7:00 pm, at City Seminary of New York (2204 Frederick Douglass Blvd/119th Street). To RSVP, email minfellows@cityseminaryny.org by June 1, 2009.

Urban Pilgrimage to East Asia
Korea/ China (Hong Kong)- Students in the City Seminary/ Westminster Masters of Arts in Urban Ministry Program go on an urban pilgrimage to East Asia, visiting the metropolitan cities of Seoul, Korea, Shanghai and Shenzhen, China and Hong Kong.

Fall Conference on Urban Ministry:
New Song Community Church- Over 100 participants gathered together to discuss issues of social justice and poverty with keynote speakers, Thelma and Frank Makoro, Nicholas Wolterstorff, and Luke Timothy Johnson. A panel of local organizations including bread&water, New Song Community Corporation, Prison Fellowship, and New York Faith and Justice, provided opportunities for participants to get involved in practical ways.

Maria Liu Wong Appointed Dean- Maria Liu Wong has been promoted to the position of Dean of City Seminary of New York. She has been with the seminary for the past year as Assistant Director.

Andrew Walls Gallery Opens
City Seminary of New York-
The Andrew Walls Gallery opened at City Seminary of New York on November 10, 2007, at 1:00 pm. The gallery is dedicated to Dr. Andrew Walls, founder of the Centre for Christianity in the Non-Western World (Univ. Edinburgh), who has been of significant influence on our seminary community. Our first exhibit, "Seeking the Peace of the City Together", shares the stories of "urban pilgrims" in the United States and Africa. The gallery is open to the public on Wednesdays (3:00-6:00 pm) and Saturdays (10:00 am -1:00 pm), and by appointment (gallery@cityseminaryny.org; 212.749.2717).

First City Seminary/Westminster MA Program Graduation!!!
Calvary Church (Souderton, PA)- The inaugural cohort of students (14 in all!) from the Westminster/City Seminary of New York Masters of Arts in Urban Ministry Program graduated on May 24, 2007. We are excited that they have completed the first part of their journey in theological education and look forward to staying connected as they continue to seek the peace of New York City in their respective ministries.

First City Seminary/ Westminster Urban Pilgrimage
South Africa/ Senegal- Students in the City Seminary/ Westminster Masters of Arts in Urban Ministry Program embarked on the first "Urban Pilgrimage" on February 14, 2007. The group of 14 travelled to South Africa (Johannesburg and Cape Town) and Senegal (Dakar) to listen, learn and bear witness to the challenges and the amazing work that God is doing there. An exhibit will be held in June 2007 at City Seminary of New York to share experiences and reflections on the group's 10 day journey together. Check back in early May 2007 for more details on the exhibit.
