FAQ's

Do I need to have a college degree to apply?
No. You do not need to have a college degree. You should have at least completed a high school education or received a GED equivalent in order to do the reading assigned for the program.

Do I receive seminary credit for the program?
No. Although the coursework is seminary level quality, and is an important part of a continuum of learning that may include a seminary degree, you will not receive degree credit for this program. A certificate of completion will be given to all who complete the Fellows program satisfactorily.

What if I want to attend but can't afford to do so?
No student will be turned away for reasons of affordability. However, every student is required to pay something. You may also look into being sponsored by your congregation.

Who are the course leaders?
The City Seminary of New York faculty bring a background in biblical, theological, historical and sociological training with practical urban ministry experience to the learning community. The program will be co-taught by a team composed of Mark Gornik (director, City Seminary of New York), Maria Liu Wong (dean, City Seminary of New York), Janice McLean (pastor, New Song Community Church), Adebisi Oyesile (pastor, Redeemed Christian Church of God Chapel of Hope), and Laura Speiller (former pastor, New Life Fellowship). In addition, there will be guest speakers on various topics throughout the course.
